Sale Rules.

In Sweden, all sales of alcohol are regulated in Swedish law. Companies with an import license are allowed to import beer, wine and liquor, and sell these products to the hotels and restaurants, and to Systembolaget. Systembolaget has a monopoly on all sales of beer, wine and liquor to the private market.

From 1995, when Sweden joined the EU, Systembolaget's monopoly was limited solely to the sale of beer, wine and liquor to private market. This means that there are now a number of companies with an import license, which import these products, and sells them through Systembolaget

Systembolaget is a state enterprise with the mandate to sell beer, wine and liquor to private market. The company's mission is to sell these products without profit to the public, while being brand-neutral. No supplier may not be favoured or discriminated.
